Child

At First Baptist we love kids!

We are dedicated to providing a place where children of all ages can learn about God’s love in the way and at a level uniquely suited to them. Our colorful, kid-friendly environment is a great place for your child to discover God and His love. Teaching children within a safe, secure, and loving atmosphere is our top priority as we partner with you to lay a Biblical foundation for your child’s spiritual growth.

All children’s workers are screened and trained through Ministry Safe and we closely follow our Child Protection Policy to ensure that your child is in the safest environment possible.

Sunday Morning Connection Groups

9:45 – 10:45 am

1st – 4th Grade

From the first fun and meaningful activity through the stimulating Bible story to hands-on application and a thought-provoking video, each part of the lesson connects kids to trustworthy Bible truths for their everyday lives and draws them closer to Jesus. Age-graded classes for 1st – 4th grade.

5th & 6th Grade

Preteens have many questions about life and faith. They’re deciding what they believe and we can’t ignore these questions. That’s why each week our 5th and 6th grade boys’ and our 5th and 6th grade girls’ class explore these questions and find Biblical answers. After discussing these questions, preteens will be challenged to turn these questions into action, and faith in action helps uncertainties become clear.

Sunday Morning Worship – The Hub

11:00 am
1st – 4th Grade
Children will take part in worship with their families then move to the Children’s Building with the Hub leaders after the singing. At the Hub we are learning to put God at the “hub” of our lives, letting Him influence the things that we think, say, and do. We do this through engaging Bible series that bring to life Biblical principles.

Wednesday Evenings – Children in Action

6:30 – 7:30 pm

1st – 6th Grade
Children in Action is a discipleship and missions/service class. The first part of the hour the children learn to observe what the Bible is saying and reflect on how to use it in their lives. They also play games to help them memorize scripture. The second part of the hour is spent learning about missionaries or learning skills to help them serve God’s people.
Salt & Light Clubs
Volunteers from FBC Cove go into four area elementary schools for six weeks in the fall and spring to share the story of Jesus in the Salt & Light after school club. We give the children a snack, play games to memorize a verse from the Bible, creatively tell Bible stories, and finish by meeting in small groups to help the children apply what they have learned and pray for them.
