Girls in Action
Girls in Action Meets Every Wednesday Evening at 6:30PM on the second floor of the Fellowship Hall
Our theme this year is “ACTION!” In our activities throughout the year, girls will learn what it means to Live the Call through taking Action! GA's will learn how missionaries take action to minister to people around the world in hands-on ways. Girls will also explore how they can take action everyday to help people learn about God.
We ask our newest GA’s to memorize the GA motto, pledge, and scripture. When they do so, they will earn a sash and a GA patch. Our returning GA’s will memorize the GA Lifestyle verse. All GA’s will have opportunities to earn other patches throughout the year as well. Included with this letter are the memory items, Christmas in August information and a list of patches we will work on this year. Your participation is strongly encouraged, as the girls learn faster when they get reinforcement from home.
Each month in GA’s we study a different country, area, or ministry. Our typical GA schedule consists of three regular meetings, which contain hands-on activities and large group time. The girls are separated into two major age groups: 1st thru 4th and 5th thru 6th grade. They work out of Weekly Reader-type magazines called GA World.
The fourth meeting of the month is when we help the girls complete their grade-level World Venture books. GA’s who complete six World Venture activities earn a charm bracelet and an accompanying grade-level charm. Once the charm bracelet is achieved, they work on earning their grade-level charm each year. Some of the work may require your assistance. Any time you would like to volunteer or join our team, don’t hesitate to call or come upstairs and join us!
We have an excellent group of volunteer leaders who are looking forward to working with the girls.
