OUTREACH MINISTRIES

 

Benevolence Ministries--To provide food, clothing, and financial assistance to persons in need in the Copperas Cove area.  Contact:  Doris McCrary

                       

MOPS--(Mothers of Preschoolers) -- The purpose of this ministry is to nurture the needs of every Mother of a Preschooler to the glory of Jesus Christ while providing a safe, fun learning environment for their children.

 

Aerobics--The purpose of this ministry is to strengthen women‘s bodies and souls through exercise, devotionals and friendships. Contact:  Linda Lapierre

 

Outreach Ministry--Our goal is to lead people to faith in Christ and active involvement in the church.

 

Intercessory Prayer Ministry--Our mission is to lift up prayer needs and concerns for the membership and people in the community through e-mail and telephone prayer chains.

 

Japanese Christian Fellowship--This ministry reaches out to the Japanese speaking people of the area by providing fellowship and worship opportunities in the Japanese language.

 

WORSHIP MINISTRIES

 

Usher Ministry--Perhaps the most visible of all ministry teams, ushers meet and greet, help seat people, hand out programs, handle crown control, answer a multitude of questions and take the offering.  Ushers are the first impression of FBC for guests and visitors.

 

Music/Drama Ministry--First Baptist’s music/drama ministry exists to help people glorify God through the medium of music and other artistic expressions.  Contact:  Jim Barker

 

SMALL GROUP MINISTRIES

 

 J.O.Y.-(Just Over Youth)--The focus of this group is for members over the age of 50 to meet for fellowship, spiritual growth and ministry opportunities while sharing the love of the Lord.

 

Life Mates--The goal of this ministry is to enrich marriages through scripture and fellowship in order to enable couples to be life mates for a lifetime.

 

Homebound Ministries--Care, compassion, and a gentle loving hand from a Christ follower.  That’s what this ministry offers the homebound and those in the nursing homes in our community.

 

Women’s Ministry--The Women’s Ministry seeks to provide for the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the women of First Baptist Church and the greater Fort Hood area through opportunities for worship, prayer, service, fellowship, and education.  Contact:  Annette Kemp

 

Men’s Ministry--We strive to equip men to fulfill the Great Commission as well as prepare them to stand up for Christ. 

 

First Place--As a result of participating in First Place, individuals will live healthier, happier, and more abundant lives with God as their first priority.   Contact:  Nancy Barker

  

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRIES

 

Youth Ministry--Our purpose is to HAUL students to Jesus, PLUG them in to His family, GROW them to become the maximum that God made them to be, EQUIP them for ministry in our church and LAUNCH them out on their mission in God’s world to better HONOR  Him. 

 

Singles Ministry--The Single Adult Ministry exists to introduce single adults to Jesus Christ and to help them become His fully devoted followers. Contact:  Jim Barker

 

Sunday School Ministry--The focus of this area is to provide a small group ministry focused on leading people to faith in Christ, building them up as His followers and involving them in service and witness for Him. 

 

Children’s Ministry--This is an opportunity to help children learn about Jesus and His love for them.  Teachers and assistants for 1st through 6th grade join together to build a foundation of Godly character in children through age appropriate lessons which incorporate Bible study, crafts, and memory versesThe Children’s Ministry also includes Royal Ambassadors and Girls in Action.   Contact:  Judy Abell

 

Royal Ambassadors--We develop an on-mission lifestyle in boys by doing mission activities, learning about missionaries, and learning to pray for mission efforts.  Contact: Donald Seagraves

 

Girls in Action--The purpose of GA’s is to lead girls in grades 1-6 to learn about missions, pray for missionaries and take part in missions.  The goal is that girls will grow up to be mission-minded and share God’s love with their friends, neighbors and the world. Contact:  Dana Hamilton

 

 

Pre-School Ministry--We work at building foundations for a relationship with Christ while providing an inviting and safe environment for our youngest members.  The Pre-School Ministry also includes Extended Teaching Care, and Mission Friends. Contact: Judy Abell

 

Extended Teaching Care—To ensure that we have a caring learning environment for our preschoolers during the 8:30 and 11:00 service.   ETC asks all parents of preschoolers, as well as any others who are interested, to volunteer one Sunday a month to serve God by caring for children from birth through 4 years old.  Contact: Judy Abell

 

Mission Friends—The purpose of Mission Friends is to teach mission attitudes and concepts to  preschoolers age 4 and 5.  Contact: Judy Abell

 

Family Support Ministries

Homeschool Ministry - We are a growing group of homeschooling families, within in our church, who want to provide each other support and encouragement through Jesus love. For more information contact Donna Robbins at robbins@1foundation.com

 

Deployed Spouses Ministry - This ministry brings families, within our church that are experiencing a deployed family member, together to encourage and support one another through prayer, activities and help when needed.
